The veil comes off, and we meet him face to face.
The word veil carries two layers of meaning here.
The first is the veil of the temple. The curtain that stood between people and God was, at the moment Jesus gave up his spirit on the cross, “torn in two from the top to the bottom” (Matthew 27:51). What had blocked the way became the way.
The second is the veil over a face. The veil Moses put over his own face (Exodus 34:33) is lifted when we turn: “But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away” (2 Corinthians 3:16).
The curtain that separated us was torn, and the veil that covered us was taken away. Now we behold his glory with unveiled faces, with nothing hiding him from us (2 Corinthians 3:18).
That torn curtain and that lifted veil became the Veil logo.
- The rising arch — the curtain torn from above. What once blocked the way is now a door.
- The open doorway — “a new and living way” that Christ opened for us (Hebrews 10:20).
- The light inside the door — the secret place where, with the veil lifted, you meet him alone (Matthew 6:6).
